68
Matthew Peretin
Education:
Bachelor of Science. West Point the US Military Academy 1985.
Masters of Science. Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA 1999. School of Engineering,
Major in Management.
Other Comments:
Served 7 years active duty in the Army as a Lieutenant and Captain in the Corps of
Engineers. Small unit leader and manager. Military specialty included duties as
firefighter and emergency first aid. Currently certified in Red Cross Wilderness First Aid
(for situations where EMS is not immediately available), Adult CPR and AED. Work
experience in Construction Management which specifically requires that the contractor
protect the life and property of all the workers on the site. My wife is a Registered Nurse
with Critical Care specialization and over 5 years as a burn nurse. Through her
experiences lunderstand - as much as a civilian can -the urgency of fire and
emergency medical service delivery. I know and respect the commitment of Emergency
Service personnel. I have several family members who are (or were) fire fighters, police
and emergency communications personnel.
I can and will listen to everyone. I try to work from a viewpoint that respects people,
considers what works, and evaluates what is a wise expenditure (and stewardship) of
resources. While I have specific views and viewpoints, I am not politically active and
want to keep it that way. My interest in this Work Group is to meet like-minded people
and to assist with the good management of Emergency Services in the county. STAFF
COMMENTS: Originally 01/13/2012 applied for Orange County Emergency Services
Work Group. ADDRESS VERIFICATION: Concord Drive is Orange County Jurisdiction,
South Orange Fire Tax, and Chapel Hill Township.
This application was current on: 1/13/2012 1:02:53 PM Date Printed: 1/13/2012
