7 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Andrea Riley <br />As a past art major and certified art teacher, I am still very interested in the. enjoyment <br />and promotion of the arts. I would like to be actively- involved with the promotion of the <br />arts in Orange County and I believe that my marketing and promotional experience could <br />be of use. I worked for 16 years in the Durham County Library (and am currently working <br />part-time in the Hillsborough Library). As both a patron and employee of public libraries, I <br />think 1 know a great deal about what patrons are looking for and appreciate in their <br />libraries. I wound enjoy being involved with the Orange County Library as a volunteer <br />advisor, although I don't know whether my-employment by the Orange County Library <br />would be seen as a conflict of interest. As a thirty-year resident of Orange County <br />(Chapel. Hill for nine years, and Efland for 21), I have become a life-long fan. I would <br />-like to be involved in the promotion of Chapel Hill and Orange County because I believe I <br />understand what makes this area attractive to residents and visitors alike, and with my <br />experience in both marketing and design, I believe that I can contribute many creative <br />.ideas about how to communicate its advantages.
