t
ORANGE COUNTY EMERGENCY SERV ICES
Interoffice Memorandum
TO: Frank W. Clifton, Jr., County Manager
FROM: F. Rojas Montes de Oca, Jr., Emergency Services Dire
DATE: September 20, 2011
SUBJECT: Paramedic Academy Employee Contracts
I am pleased to announce the finish of the academic portion of the Durham
Tech/Orange County Paramedic Academy. Attached please find seven contracts
(three originals per student)for signature. They are:
• Edward W. Buck II • Charles Hausman
• Stuart Catto-Davis • John Wooten
• Bradley Feren • James Johnson
• Richard Eldridge
The group is finishing up clinicals, specialized classwork such as driver training
and scene safety and are on target to be released (following boarding with the
Medical Director) in November.
Your approval via signature will bind the individual as an employee with Orange
County for two years. The contract was developed in consultation with Staff
Attorney Annette Moore. There is one employee's name and contract that is not
included. He has a special circumstance, which I will forward under separate
cover following discussion with Ms. Moore.
Within the next week or so I will forward to you a summary of the program listing
the highpoints and benefits to the County for inclusion in a Manager's Memo or
other communiqu6'. Thank you for your support of this unique approach to
staffing, which we plan to explore again soon.
Should you desire additional information or clarification, please let me know.
Cc: Michael Talbert, Interim Assistant County Manager
Annette Moore, Staff Attorney
Care • Serve • Survive
