SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS <br />Project: Transit Shelter <br />Building/Facility: DTCC @ Waterstone <br />Location: Hillsborou h, NC <br />PURPOSE: The purpose of this RFP is to obtain a proposal for delivery and cost for a transit shelter with bench to be installed <br />on property owned by Orange County. <br />BACKGROUND: Orange County will receive reimbursement for the transit shelter and installation from North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program; therefore, procurement must comply with <br />requirements for federal aid projects. <br />The project shall consist of all work specified in the following table. The specifications below are intended to describe Orange <br />County's needs. Slight deviations may be accepted with advance approval by Orange County Purchasing. Please use the space <br />provided in the 'VARIANCE" column to identify any proposed variances to the specifications. This projectwill be managed bythe <br />Orange County Purchasing and Public Works Departments. <br />All work shall comply with all applicable national, state and local building codes. Contractor shall be responsible for securing <br />required permits. - <br />Successful Contractor Shall be responsible for the Following <br />GENERAL <br />This section includes general provisions of the contract for one transit shelter with Engineering Stamp. <br /># DESCRIPTION YES NO VARIANCE <br />1 Performance Requirements: Provide a transit shelter that allow for the <br /> thermal movement resulting from a maxmum change (range) of 120 deg <br /> F (67 deg C) in ambient and 180 deg F (100 deg C) in material surface <br /> temperatures by preventing buckling, opening of joints, overstressing of / <br /> components, failure of connections, and any other detrimental effects. <br /> Base engineering calculation on surface temperatures of materials due to <br /> both solar heat ain and ni httime-s heat loss. <br />2 Delivery: Protect finishes on exposed surfaces from damage by applying <br /> a tem ora rotective coverin or wra in before shi in . <br />3 PRODUCT This section includes specifications for an unassembled <br /> modular transit shelter with 10' aluminum bench. <br />4 Overall Dimensions: <br /> a. He' ht: 8 feet maximum variance: 8 inches <br /> b. Width: 6 feet maximum variance: 6 inches <br /> C. Len the 12 feet maximum variance: 12 inches ~ <br /> d. Headroom: 7 feet maximum variance: 6 inches <br /> e. Entr a Width: 32 inches minimum <br /> f. 10-foot aluminum bench <br />5 Variation in these dimensions, to accommodate standardization, may be <br /> ermissible. <br />6 Materials <br />7 Frame: The framing members shall be of acceptable grade aluminum fe~, ~r j p ,~, r <br />~~~ <br /> with an anodized finish to prevent deterioration.
