COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />FINANCIAL SERVICES -PURCHASING <br />PO BOX 8181 ^ 200 South .Cameron Street <br />HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br />INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS <br />1.All bids and proposals shall be for furnishing apparatus, supplies, materials, equipment and/or work and <br />services in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications prescribed by Orange County. Plans <br />and/or specifications may be obtained at the Orange County Financial Services -Purchasing Division, <br />200 S Cameron Street, Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278 . <br />2. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. Orange County reserves the right to reject <br />any or all bids, and to waive minor irregularities. <br />3.The successful bidder shall comply fully with the requirements of General Statutes, Section 143-131, as amended. By <br />placing the bid, the Bidder agrees to allow Orange County to negotiate reasonable reductions in price with the low <br />bidder if the low bid exceeds the project budget. <br />4.In the event of default by any contractor or vendor Orange County may procure from other sources the service or <br />items being bid and hold the contractor responsible for any excess cost occasioned thereby. <br />5. Proposals received after opening date and time shall not be considered. <br />6. Bids must be signed and submitted on the attached form. <br />7. All contractors are hereby notrfied that they must have proper license under the State laws governing their respective <br />trades. Please display license number on your submittal <br />9.The bidder represents by submitting a bid that they have read the plans and specirfications and have a complete <br />understanding of the project and job site as presented. <br />10. INSURANCE PROVISIONS <br />0 11.1 Worker's Compensation -Coverage to apply for all employees for statutory limits in compliance with <br />the applicable state and federal laws. The policy must include employer's liability with a limit of $100,000 <br />for each accident, $100,000 bodily injury by disease each employee and $500,000 bodily injury by disease <br />policy limit. <br />0 11.2 Comprehensive General Liability -Shall have minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence combined <br />single limit for bodily injury liability and property damage liabilfty. This shall include premises and/or <br />operations, independent contractors, products and/or underground damage coverage, sudden and <br />accidental pollution losses, and a contractual liability endorsement. <br />0 11.3 Business Auto Policy -Shall have minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence combined single limit <br />for bodily. injury liability and property damage liability. This shall include: owned vehicles, hired and non- <br />owned vehicles and employee non-ownership. <br />0 11.4 Special Requirements -The County of Orange is to be named as an additional insured on the <br />Comprehensive General Liability policy The successful bidder will be expected to submit proof of Additional <br />Insured status satisfactory to the County. , <br />o Current, valid insurance policies meeting the above requirements shall be maintained for the duration of the <br />project.
