Prior to that time, I worked for regional <br />and national engineering and onsulting firms. At this time, I am essentially retired. I have <br />worked my entire career since graduate school (starting in 1971)in the environmental <br />arena, as a college professor teaching eology and environmental studies and as a <br />onsultant to government and industry. My areas of expertise include environmental <br />impact analysis, energy development, and municipal and hazardous waste disposal. <br />Volunteer Experience: <br />I presently chair the Solid Waste Advisory Board and have represented Chapel Hill since <br />2001. In the 1970's, I chaired the Unity, Maine Planning Board and served on the North <br />Kennebec Regional Planning Commission.. In addition, I served on the Executive Board <br />of the Natural Resources Council of Maine. Finally, I have spent 13 years volunteering in <br />Panama where I have lead a United Methodist Volunteers in Mission effort operating a <br />rural medical clinic and constructing/repairing several church buildings. <br />Education: <br />BS Biology, College of William and Mary (1965) <br />PhD Zoology, University of Oklahoma (1974) <br />
