5
From: Bob Marotto
Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2011 12:13 PM
To: Donna Baker
Cc: Kris Bergstrand (kris.berc~strandCa~gmail.com); Suzanne Roy
<sroyCc~wildhorsepreservation.org> (sroysa~wildhorseereservation.org)
Subject: Animal Services: Two ASAB Applicant Recommendations for BOCC Consideration
Donna, ~ -
At its meeting last evening, the Animal Services Advisory Board (ASAB) unanimously
recommended two applicants to the Commissioners for appointment to vacant positions
on the ASAB. The two vacancies- are each defined as animal welfare and rescue
positions.
The two applicants recommended by the ASAB each attended the boards October
meeting where they introduced themselves and described their interests. They are:
Judy Miller. Ph.D.: After a long career in the field of nursing, Dr. Miller has turned
her attention to one of her lifelong passion, animals. She is now working for the
Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic. As a result of this change of careers, she has note
that she is now interested in "giving back to the community as a board volunteer."
Lynn White, MD: Dr. White has a long history of interest in animal welfare and
animal rescue. For a number of years she has been a volunteer with Orange County
Animal Services. Previously, slie volunteered for eight (8) years with the Humane
Society of Missouri. She has also been a foster parent for shelter animals and has two
(2) dogs from rescue organizations.
Is it possible to get these recommendations on the agenda for a BOCC meeting in
December?
Thanks,
Bob
Bob Marotto
Animal Services Director
