Penalty for violation of ordinance. <br />Sec. 6 -37. Severability. <br />Secs. 6- 38 -6 -65. Reserved. <br />ARTICLE II. NUMBERING OF HOUSES <br />AND BUILDINGS <br />Sec. 6 -31. Definitions. <br />As used in this Ordinance, the term "administrator" refers to the person designated by the County <br />Manager to perform the responsibilities pursuant to the accomplishment of the terms of this <br />Ordinance. <br />(Ord. of 4 -21- 1987, § 1, eff. 4 -21 -1987) <br />Cross reference — Definitions generally, § 1 -2. <br />Sec. 6 -32. Location. <br />The owner of every house and every principal building shall display or cause to be displayed on <br />the front thereof, or on the appropriate rural box in a position easily observed from the street, the <br />number assigned by the administrator to that specific house or building. House numbers used <br />on rural boxes must be inscribed in contrasting color in neat numerals and letters not less than <br />one inch high, on the side of the box, or on the door, if boxes are grouped. The owner shall <br />comply with this section within 30 days after receiving a written notice from the administrator <br />requesting such action, and specifying the house or building number assigned. <br />(Ord. of 4 -21 -1987, § 2, eff. 4 -21 -1987) <br />Sec. 6 -33. Use of assigned number required. <br />No person may display or cause to be displayed on any house, building or box any number other <br />than the number assigned by the administrator. <br />(Ord. of 4-21-1987, § 3, eff. 4 -21 -1987) <br />Sec. 6 -34. Removal, obliteration and destruction <br />prohibited. <br />No person may remove, obliterate or destroy any number displayed in accordance with Section <br />6 -32 of this Ordinance. <br />(Ord. of 4-21-1987, § 4, eff. 4 -21 -1987) <br />Sec. 6 -35. Assignment guidelines. <br />The administrator shall assign house and building numbers in accordance with a system that <br />adheres as closely as possible to the principles set forth in this section. However, matters of <br />interpretation regarding the following guidelines shall be formulated through the sound <br />discretion of the administrator. <br />(a) The County shall be divided by two axes, the north -south axis shall be Highway 86 <br />(new Highway 86 from the Caswell County line to I -85, Old Highway 86 from I -85 to <br />
