Outreach: <br />® General Public: Consistent with North Carolina General Statutes and Orange <br />County ordinance requirements <br />® Small Area Plan Workgroup: NC Highway 57 Small Area Plan steering <br />committee meeting in December 2011 to <br />inform'them of the request and allow them to <br />review and comment on the proposal. <br />^ Other: <br />3. FISCAL IMPACT <br />Consideration and approval will not create the need for additional funding for the '; <br />;provision of County services. Costs for the required legal advertisement will be paid <br />from Fiscal Year 2011-12 Departmental funds budgeted for this purpose. Existing <br />ii Planning staff included in the Departmental staffing budget will accomplish the work <br />required to process this amendment. <br />D. AMENDMENT IMPLICATIONS <br />Planning staff is bringing forward this amendment from the recommendations of the <br />Small Area Plan Report because it is necessary to allow non-residential development <br />within rural areas of the County that have been identified within an adopted small area <br />plan and at the same time, preserve and protect the natural environment and rural <br />community character; minimize negative impacts to natural systems/environmentally ', <br />sensitive areas; regulate growth and development so that it complements the rural <br />character and lifestyles; and maintain present infrastructure service levels. <br />4 <br />
