The items are related to small area plan implementation, <br />economic development focus areas, and amendments necessary due to changes in State <br />Statutes and Rules. <br />Amendment Outlines for these proposed amendments are attached for the Board's <br />consideration and approval: <br />1. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment - Add a new zoning district <br />(EDB-3) and revise Section 5.1.4 to reduce the Conditional Use exclusions for <br />properties within the Economic Development Transition Activity Node and Commercial- <br />Industrial Transition Activity Node land use classifications. The purpose of the proposed <br />amendments is to create additional development options within the areas of the County <br />slated for water and wastewater services and targeted for development. <br />2. UDO Text Amendment -Revise Section 6.12.5 (n) Political Signs. This amendment <br />will incorporate recent modifications to State law concerning the placement of political <br />signs within the right of way of the State highway system. <br />3. UDO Text Amendment -Revise Section 4.2.5 Impervious surface limits. This <br />amendment will incorporate new State-mandated regulations for properties within the <br />Neuse and Jordan Lake river basins. <br />4. UDO Text Amendment -Revise Section 2.24 Appeal language. This amendment will <br />incorporate recently adopted State law that modified the statute of limitations for the <br />appeal of local government decisions. <br />5. Zoning Atlas Amendment - Pre-zone certain properties in the Buckhorn/Mebane <br />Commercial-Industrial Transition Activity Nodes (CITAN) to prepare the area for eventual <br />
