ORANGE COUNTY l~bRTH CAROLINA <br />Department, and Mebane Fire Department. Water supply for fire operations is <br />provided entirely through rural water supply operations, dry hydrants, and ponds. <br />Records showing the location and capacity of static water resources are maintained <br />in each fire unit. <br />A firefighter safety program has been instituted. The safety program includes <br />the Passport personal accountability system for fireground operations and the use <br />of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) for emergency scene command <br />and control. The department employs local vendors to maintain emergency <br />equipment and personal protection equipment (PPE). <br />There are two fire stations in the district located at 720 Hawkins Road and <br />5912 Pentecost Road. The fleet is composed of seven fire apparatus. The fire department employs 93 full-time and two part-time <br />employees. Personnel are deployed from five fire stations. The apparatus fleet is <br />composed of eight pumpers and one aerial. The fire department has one Fire Chief, <br />three Deputy Chiefs, three Battalion Chiefs, nine Captains, nine Lieutenants, two <br />Deputy Fire Marshals, and three Assistant Fire Marshals. There are 18 fire equipment <br />operators and 42 firefighters in the department. The training center is maintained <br />at Station #4.
