This site
may be implemented independent of VIPER
migration of Orange County and its communities.
The tables in this section include estimates for both fixed and non-fixed
equipment, systems engineering, program management and training. The
following assumptions, also noted in the tables, were applied to this estimate.
A. The estimate assumes that tower and site development costs will be
provided by the Vendor.
B. The estimate for Vendor Services is typically about 15% of the equipment
cost. However, this has historically ranged from 15% of the equipment
cost to 18% of the overall proposal price. Average values were used for
this estimate.
C. The estimates include installation and integration, spare parts and test
equipment, training, full 1-year warranty, and maintenance.
6.3 Subscriber Equipment for VIPER
We understand that 800 MHz subscriber units may be purchased from vendors
through July 30, 2005 via the North Carolina State Convenience Contract (725-
G). The contract has 15% discount for Motorola 800 MHz equipment and
accessories. Orange County and its communities may estimate their subscriber
costs based on the current convenience contract prices. In addition, CTA
provided an estimate for subscriber radios for entities in Orange County and its
communities in the Phase 2A report.
There will be variability in subscriber radio probable cost based on final choices
made regarding the radio tiers and radio model chosen at time of purchase.
Section 6 -VIPER Opinion of Probable Cost
r~ ., °,~ ~ Page 23 of 43
~#
~'...
