Additionally, consideration must be given to the physical strain on staff of moving fully loaded receiving-bins from the return to inside the library during all types of weather conditions as well as the time required to do this. Another consideration is the impact of having to check-in bulk loads of materials (200-300 items) multiple times a day when the receiving-bins are brought inside. Bear in mind that this would be in addition to the items normally returned at the public service desk. While adrive-by book return can be a positive service feature of a library, it is imperative that this feature be well integrated into the library's operational flow.
