Harvey, Planner III, 245-2597 <br />Craig Benedict, Director, 245-2575 <br />PURPOSE: To consider and approve process components and schedule for a Planning <br />Director initiated item for the November 21, 2011 quarterly public hearing. <br />BACKGROUND: One additional item is currently being prepared by Planning staff for the <br />November 21, 2011 quarterly public hearing. Other items for consideration were approved at the <br />August 23, 2011 meeting. This item will address land use and zoning designation for those <br />properties north of Mebane affected by the Orange -Alamance County line adjustment. <br />The Amendment Outline for thjs proposed amendment is attached for the Board's consideration <br />and approval: <br />Comprehensive Plan Land Use Element <br />assign land use categories to the <br />recommendation is that all properties be <br />use category. <br />Map (LUEM): Amend the ,existing LUEM to <br />aforementioned properties. Staff's initial <br />placed within the Agricultural Residential land <br />and <br />2. Zoning Atlas Amendment: Establishing_ zoning on the approximately 55 properties north <br />of Mebane affected by the adjustment of the Orange-Alamance County line. Staff's initial <br />recommendation is that all properties be zoned Agricultural .Residential (AR). <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Please refer to Section C.3 of Attachment 1. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the attached <br />Amendment Outline and direct staff to proceed accordingly. <br />
