The zoning permits would <br />also have asix-year renewal date. <br />Commissioner Brown asked if this ordinance corresponded to the ones in Chapel Hill, <br />Carrboro, and Hillsborough and Craig Benedict said yes. Some of the existing regulations from <br />Carrboro were used. If the uses were ever considered in the rural buffer, all of the regulations would <br />match exactly for all jurisdictions. <br />Commissioner Jacobs made reference to page six and the standards of evaluation. Impervious Structure and Detention Pond Requirements <br />a) Residential Development <br />b) Non Residential Development <br />Craig Benedict said that presently in the zoning regulations there is a term known as BMP, <br />best management practices. This is a description of engineering principles used to design different <br />types of watershed improvement techniques. When the new storm water regulations were passed <br />last year, a difference in the definition of pollution was found between the existing erosion control <br />ordinance and the storm water control ordinance. The reason far modifying the definition is to be <br />consistent with what is considered the state definition of pollution. Also, amendments have been <br />made so that BMPs cannot be used to let someone have an overage in the original impervious area <br />requirements. BMPs cannot be used to satisfy impervious surface requirements, but can be used for <br />other purposes. <br />There were no public comments. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Carey to refer <br />this item to the Planning Board for a recommendation to be returned to the County Commissioners no <br />sooner than August 21, 2001. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1. She <br />asked for the text of the amendments. Craig Benedict said that he had some suggested revisions to <br />the amendments.
