She <br /> said that the landowner's protection act will hopefully help them regarding safety. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Yuhasz, seconded by Commissioner Hemminger <br /> to authorize public outreach Option 1, including website information and the additional <br /> information from Commissioner Jacobs, as well as Action Items 1, 2a, and 3. <br /> Public Outreach Option 1: <br /> - Distribute informational brochures and post public awareness flyers throughout <br /> northern Orange County <br /> - Action Item 1: Coordinated Complaint-Making and Responses: The Communications <br /> (911) Division of Emergency Services will coordinate with the Sheriff's Department to <br /> receive and dispatch resident complaints in order to ensure timely and effective field <br /> services responses. <br /> - Action item 2a: On Saturdays during the deer hunting with dog season, the protocol <br /> for the on-call Animal Control Officer will be redefined to include stray dogs identified as <br /> hunting dogs <br /> - Action Item 3 WRC (Wildlife Resources Commission) Involvement: The WRC helps <br /> publicize as well as enforce written permission laws as they apply in Orange County. <br /> Commissioner McKee asked how the Animal Control Officer would determine a dog <br /> was hunting or just running through a yard. Bob Marotto said that it would depend on the <br /> information that was available from the complaint and who made the call. <br /> Commissioner McKee said that he had concerns, but he would support the motion. He <br /> read the third paragraph of page 4, "because there are no complaints received by hunting deer <br /> with dogs is far less than the number of complaints received by hunting in general, the focus <br /> will continue to be on hunting as a whole." This is a utility agreement for water and sewer <br /> services. This is a multi-department effort. He showed the area on several maps. The area of <br /> the interlocal agreement is consistent with the Water and Sewer Management Planning and <br /> Boundary Agreement and is also a subset of the Durham Urban Growth Boundary.
