ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: September 20, 2011 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 4 _ (~, <br />_SUBJECT: Presentation by the Consul General of Mexico to North Carolina <br />DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Letter from Consul General Bernadette Pelissier, Chair <br />Invitation Letter from BOCC Chair Donna Baker, Clerk to the Board, 245-2130 <br />PURPOSE: To receive a special presentation from the Consul General of Mexico, Carlos <br />Flores Vizcarra, in reference to consular services in North Carolina and the Consular I.D., the <br />most widely expedited document by the Consulate. <br />BACKGROUND: Orange County Board of Commissioners' Chair. Bernadette Pelissier was <br />contacted by and met with the Consul General of Mexico, Carlos Flores Vizcarra, who is <br />meeting with various local governing bodies in reference to making a presentation about <br />consular services in North Carolina and, in particular, the Consular I.D., which is the most <br />widely expedited document by the Consulate. <br />The Consul General will provide a presentation to the Board. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the presentation <br />from the Consul General of Mexico and, if needed, provide direction to staff. <br />
