73 <br />ORANGE COUNTY, AbRTH CAROLINA <br />The SOBS deploys at least one ambulance staffed with EMTs on a regular basis in <br />accordance with an agreement with the Orange County Department of Emergency <br />Services. The SORS provides crew quarters and staging facilities for County <br />ambulances. The SORS also provides the -following services: <br />► an ambulance- staffed with EMTs to support the County when resources <br />are overloaded or otherwise not available <br />► an ambulance staffed with EMTs to provide coverage for special events <br />held by the University of North Carolina and the Towns of Chapel Hill and <br />Carrboro and other County - organizations <br />► an ambulance with EMTs to provide coverage at Orange County public <br />school football games <br />► a specialized technical rescue service (high -angle and rope rescue, swift <br />water rescue, confined -space rescue) <br />► a fire rehabilitation support service for municipal and County volunteer <br />fire departments <br />The South Orange Rescue Squad provides professional development <br />opportunities for volunteer members who are working toward careers in health-care,- <br />public health,, emergency services, or public service. The South Orange Rescue Squad <br />offers free CPR -and AED (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automatic External <br />Defibrillator) classes to individuals and groups in Orange County. <br />The SORS owns and maintains an 8,000- square foot rescue station with seven <br />climate controlled bays located at 202 Roberson Street in Carrboro. The SORS owns <br />and maintains a fleet of ambulances, rescue vehicles, and support equipment. Major <br />vehicles and equipment include a Type 11 Ambulance (2004 Ford E350), a Type III <br />Ambulance (2006 Ford E450), one 15- passenger support van (2010 Chevrolet 4x4), <br />one rescue truck (2006 Ford F -350, utility), one rescue truck (1995 Ford F -350), one <br />rescue service box van (2000 Chevrolet /Grumman), one 24 -foot enclosed trailer with <br />EMS equipped bicycles and stretcher - equipped gator, and one 12 -foot enclosed trailer <br />with confined space rescue equipment, including SCBA /SABA equipment. <br />�}' M11M CONSULTING 6kOUP, INC. 69 <br />
