Inspection personnel conducted 1,961 commercial inspections and 373 <br />secondary commercial inspections between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. <br />Personnel also conducted 235 plan reviews. <br />The Chapel Hill Fire Department has developed detailed qualifications for <br />all ranks in the department, including Firefighter, Master Firefighter, Fire <br />Equipment Operator (FED); Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and Battalion Chief. <br />Detailed qualifications have also been established for Deputy Fire Marshal and <br />Assistant Fire Marshal. <br />EFLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The Efland Fire Department provides fire and first responder services to <br />citizens in the Efland Fire District. The department provides services through a 36- <br />member volunteer fire department. The department is lead by a Fire Chief, who is <br />appointed by the Board of Directors. The department has one Fire Chief, two <br />Assistant Fire Chiefs, four Captains, three Lieutenants, and 25 firefighters. All <br />positions, except the Assistant Fire Chiefs, are elected by the membership for a <br />period of one year.
