Two maps show travel time from each fire station. <br />In a similar manner to the distance maps, Map 3 does not include fire district <br />boundaries and Map 4 displays travel time with fire district boundaries. <br />The maps indicate the streets and area covered in two - minute increments. The <br />maps required the assignment of average travel speeds to roadways. The maps <br />presented in this report have incorporated an average speed of 28 miles per <br />hour (mph) for roadways in the County. There are 1,798 miles of improved and <br />unimproved highways, roadways, vehicular trails, and long driveways accessing one <br />or more dwelling units or places of employment in Orange County. <br />The computer maps graphically show the response capability of emergency <br />response agencies.
