Signs of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Petitioner: Pierre Morin, Biltmore Homes, LLC <br /> • Proposal is to amend Section 9.6 Signs Not Subject To Permit Requirements <br /> • Adds subparagraph I in the unregulated signs portion of the ordinance (Section 9.6) <br /> • Current maximum of signs not subject to permit requirements is 4 square feet <br /> • This proposal would allow a 16 square foot maximum sign to be installed on the same lot <br /> as a builder's model home <br /> • Would add provision requiring a minimum of 12 square feet of landscaping including <br /> flowering plants or bushes to be provided surrounding the sign <br /> • Sign would limit information conveyed to: 1) the builder's name, 2) phone number, 3) the <br /> hours that the model is open for viewing, and 4) an e-mail address <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no public fiscal impact associated with this decision item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Planning Staff recommends DENIAL of the amendment. <br /> The Administration recommends that the proposed <br /> amendment be referred to the Planning Board for a <br /> recommendation returned to the Board of County Commissioners <br /> no sooner than May 21, 2002. <br />
