<br />report strongly advised the establishment of such oourt stating that in the
<br />oni nion of said oommitteea maJority o£ the cease maw tried in the Sunerior Coin
<br />could be di eno sad of in the re aorder's court thereby expediting the trl al of
<br />misdemeanors with the saving of con sl de ruble expense end also time; and wham as
<br />thle Board, after consi der3ge the gene rel publio opinion and after full invest-
<br />igation and di ecu ssion, is now of the opinion that it would 'oe to the 'oe st in-
<br />terest and ~velfere of Oranre County to establish such cov rt.

<br />1, The name of the said court shell be "Orange County Recorder's Court
<br />2. The Court shall be oven for the trial of criminal cases of whl ch 11
<br />has ~~Juri sdi cti on on Ltondey o` each week et 10:G0 o'clock e, m., beel nning
<br />on ?donday, L"-ay 5, 1947, and shall continue its session from day to day un ti:
<br />ell business is transacted by tri el, con tinuence or otherwise.. The session
<br />of the court shell be held Sn the County Courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C,
<br />Provided, hor.•ever, that sneolel sessions of the court mey oe called 'oy the
<br />Recorder as the necessities mey require. Provided further that in cases of
<br />emergency the Sud¢e or the Recorder may in his dls ere ti on continue or post-
<br />pone the regular wee};ly se ssl on of said court to some other day ar time
<br />during the week.
<br />The Judas or Recorder of satd court shall receive as compensation
<br />and sal ary the sum of 5150.00 per month.
<br />4. The Pro eeauting Attorney oS the said court shall receive as compen-
<br />sation and salary the sum of x125.00 per month. ,
<br />5, The Clerk. of tte Superior Court of Orange County acting es Clerk
<br />ex officio of the Recorder's Court shall re oei ve as compensation for his
<br />services in connection vd th the P,ecorder'e Court the sum of 550.00 per mom tk
<br />which shall be in adds ti on to other compen seti on received by him.
<br />Upon motl on duly made by Commi sei oner iii lson, and seconded by Commissioner
<br />Laws, the fo llorring re eoluti on was unanimously adopted:
