- Posted signs in amendment areas <br /> Key Amendment Points <br /> - Implements recommendations in the Efland/Mebane small Area Plan <br /> - Consistent with Economic Development and Land Use goals and objectives of <br /> Comprehensive Plan <br /> - Consistent with adjacent land uses <br /> - Establishes consistency with WASMPBA <br /> - Creates potential for rezoning to non-residential districts (Area B) and higher density <br /> residential districts (Area C) <br /> - No developments are proposed in Area B or C <br /> - Existing residential, non-residential, and agricultural uses can continue <br /> - A portion of Area B is also proposed for rezoning to Office/Institutional (Agenda Item <br /> C.7) <br /> - Existing zoning to remain for Area C—any higher density residential development <br /> must go through rezoning and public hearing process <br /> Recommendation <br /> - Receive the proposed amendments <br /> - Conduct the Public Hearing and accept public, BOCC, and Planning Board comment <br /> - Refer the matter to the Planning Board with a request that a recommendation be <br /> retumed to the Board of County Commissioners in time for the June 21, 2011 BOCC regular <br /> meeting <br /> - Adjourn the public hearing until June 21, 2011 in order to receive and accept the <br /> Planning Board's recommendation and any submitted written comments <br /> Public Comment <br /> None. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Hemminger, seconded by Commissioner McKee to <br /> receive the proposal to amend the Comprehensive Plan Land Use Element Map; refer the matter to <br /> the Planning Board with a request that a recommendation be returned to the Board of County <br /> Commissioners in time for the June 21, 2011 BOCC regular meeting; and adjourn the public hearing <br /> until June 21, 2011 in order to receive and accept the Planning Board's recommendation and any <br /> submitted written comments. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />
