Board of Social Services —Appointment <br /> The Board considered making one second term appointment to the Board of Social <br /> Services. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Foushee, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Hemminger to appoint Patricia Garavaglia to a second term expiring June 30, 2014. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 13. Board Comments <br /> Commissioner Gordon made reference to Triangle Transit news and stated that the <br /> ridership made an all-time new monthly record. In March, there were 124,000+ riders, which is <br /> up 21% over 2010. <br /> Commissioner Gordon said that the 19 workshops on the bus/rail planning are being <br /> completed and 1,100 people attended with over 1,000,000 website hits to <br /> www.transitfuture.com. Triangle Transit buses have added wi-fi and this has been a success. <br /> She said that there is still time to get in on the Smart Commute Challenge. The website is <br /> www.smartcommutechallenqe_org.
