Use and Access Plan for McGowan Creek Preserve <br />The Board was to consider a staff proposal for the future public use of and access to the <br />McGowan Creek Preserve. <br />This item was delayed. <br />10. REPORTS <br />a. Commissioners Affordable Housing Task Force Final Report <br />The Board received a report from the Commissioners Affordable Housing Task Force. <br />Tara Fikes made reference to the executive summary, which outlines the findings and <br />recommendations of the task farce. Also, there is a list of strategies developed by the subcommittees of <br />the task force. <br />Chair Halkiotis Hated that at the joint meeting with the Town of Hillsborough, the Tawn Board <br />received a copy of the report and the Board of County Commissioners requested an opportunity at a <br />future Town Board meeting for a group from the task force to make a report to the Town. This is not <br />strictly an Orange County effort, but all jurisdictions need to be involved. <br />Commissioner Gordon said that there were substantive things to discuss in the report and not <br />enough time at this meeting since it was already 10:30 p.m. She suggested it would be better to have a <br />full discussion at a later time before approving the report and forwarding it to the Capital Needs Advisory <br />Task Force. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to approve <br />the Executive Summary of the Report and forward it to the Capital Needs Advisory Task Force. <br />VOTE: AYES, 3; NOES, 2 {Commissioner Gordon and Commissioner Brown) <br />b. OWASA and Orange County Jordan Lake Allocations <br />The Board was to review and discuss information regarding the future allocation of raw water <br />from Jordan Lake. <br />This item was delayed. <br />11. CLOSED SESSION <br />"To discuss the County's position and to instruct the County Manager and County Attorney on the <br />negotiating position regarding the terms of a contract to purchase real property," NCGS ; 143- <br />318.11(a)(5). <br />This item was delayed. <br />12.
