ITEMS FOR DECISION -CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Chair Halkiotis, seconded by Commissioner Gordon to apprave those items <br />on the consent agenda as stated below: <br />a. Appointments <br />This item was removed and placed at the end of the consent agenda for separate <br />consideration. <br />b. Minutes <br />The Board approved minutes from the following meetings: March 30, 2000 assembly of <br />governments; April 17, 2000 regular meeting; April 24, 2000 work session; May 3, 2000 regular meeting; <br />May 9, 2000 work session; May 16, 2000 regular meeting; May 18, 2000 community forum; May 22, <br />2000 quarterly public hearing; May 30, 2000 regular meeting; and, June 1, 2000 budget public hearing. <br />c. Motor Vehicle Property Tax Refunds <br />The Board approved nine requests for refund of property taxes, which will result in refunds <br />amounting to $437.53 in accordance with the refund resolution incorporated herein by reference. <br />d. Amendment to Ordinance Implementing a Grass Receipts Tax on Rental Vehicles <br />Exempt from Property Tax <br />The Board amended an ordinance adopted June 6, 2000, implementing a gross receipts tax <br />an certain vehicles exempted from property taxes by the N.C. General Assembly during the 2000 <br />legislative session. <br />e. Budget Amendment #9 <br />The Board approved of an equipment and vehicle capital project ordinance, and a hazard <br />mitigation grant project ordinance. <br />f. Bid Award: Two Fabric-Covered Buildings for Solid Waste Operations <br />The Board awarded a bid to Shelters, Inc. in the amount of $96,291 for two fabric-covered <br />shelters at the Orange County landfill. <br />g_ Authorization to Award Bids for Renovation at 129 E. King St., Hillsborough <br />The Board authorized the Purchasing and Central Services Director to award bids for <br />renovation at 129 E. King St. in an amount not to exceed $100,000. <br />VOTE ON CONSENT AGENDA: UNANIMOUS <br />ITEMS REMOVED FROM CONSENT AGENDA <br />a. Appointments <br />The Board considered appointments to the Advisory Board on Aging, Human Services <br />Advisory Commission, Hyconeechee Regional Library Board of Directors and the Upper Neuse Basin <br />Association. <br />Advisory Board on Aging <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Carey to appoint <br />Ms. Tilly from Cedar Grove Township to the at-large position far the unexpired term ending June 30, <br />2aa2. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Gordon to <br />apprave the following appointments: <br />
