Gordon, Barry Jacobs, Pam Hemminger, Earl McKee and Steve <br />16 Yuhasz <br />17 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br />18 COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT-: John Roberts <br />19 COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Frank Clifton and Deputy Clerk to the <br />20 Board David Hunt (All other staff members will be identified appropriately below) <br />21 -PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Brian L. Class A Special Use Permit (SUP) Application Proposing Development of a Montessori <br />28 School - To review adeveloper-initiated project that would allow for development of a <br />29 Montessori School at the intersection of Lawrence Road and Old NC 10. <br />30 Larry Wright read-the item. <br />31 <br />32 Larry Wright: I would like to ask those who have signed up to give testimony for this #2 item to <br />33 please come to the Clerk and be duly sworn in. <br />34 <br />35 Deputy Clerk David Hunt: Do you solemnly swear/affirm to tell the truth, the whole truth and <br />36 nothing but the truth, so help you God? <br />37 <br />38 Michael Harvey: I am Michael Harvey with the Planning Department and I am here this <br />39 evening to present to you staff's abstract concerning a Class A Special Use Permit application <br />40 requesting authorization to locate a Montessori School at the Unitarian Universalist <br />41 Congregation in Hillsborough at 1710 Old NC 10. You will note from your packet that this parcel <br />42 of property is 2.8 acres in area, it is zoned Rural Residential, and it is within a 10-year Transition <br />43 Area as designated on the Land Use Element Map. <br />44 <br />45 The applicant has provided you with a formal site plan and photographs of the building. As you <br />46 will note from the notes section on the submitted site plan as well as our abstract, the Unitarian <br />47 Universalist Church wishes to allow a Montessori School utilizing the existing church facility <br />48 where students range in ages of 6-12 years of age, for a maximum capacity of 12 students at <br />49 the school. <br />
