Caregiver Day Out program, in-home respite, and support group staff for counseling <br />support groups. <br />• Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) -funds of $4,266 from the <br />N. C. Department of Insurance to continue the Senior Health Insurance Information <br />Program (SHIIP) and the Low income Subsidy outreach and enrollment project in <br />Orange County. <br />• Manley Estates -receipt of contract revenues totaling $7,200 to cover the cost of <br />providing social work services for the residents of the First Baptist and Manley <br />Estates senior housing complex in Chapel Hill. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds for the above <br />stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column 1) <br />Health Department <br />2. The Health Department has received additional revenue for the following programs: <br />• Strowd Roses Grant -receipt of a $5,000 grant award from the Strowd Roses <br />Foundation for training Burmese interpreters. These funds will be used to provide: <br />(1) 40 hours of training for local Burmese interpreters, (2) five, two-hour professional <br />interpreter workshops focusing on topics such as: professional <br />boundaries/appropriate referrals, specialized vocabulary/pronunciation, <br />accuracy/completion of interpretation, and self-care; and (3) Medical glossaries in <br />Burmese and Karen. <br />NACCHO funds -receipt of $5,000 from the National Association of City and County <br />Health Officials (NACCHO) for training and supply costs in support of the Medical <br />Reserve Corps program. <br />Donations -receipt of donated funds of $500 from UNC-Chapel Hill to be used in <br />support of the Medical Reserve Corps program. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated <br />purposes. (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br />Emergency Services Department <br />3. The Emergency Services Department has received individual donations totaling $500. <br />The department plans to use these funds for public outreach programs. This budget <br />amendment provides for the receipt of these funds for the above stated purpose. <br />4. At June 30, 2011, the Emergency Services Department had unspent 2010 Performance <br />Grant funds totaling $1,560 which the department had received from the North Carolina <br />Department of Crime Control and Public Safety in FY 2010-11. These available funds <br />were earmarked as deferred revenue at June 30, 2011 for use in FY 2011-12 to offset <br />operating costs associated with maintaining the department's comprehensive <br />Emergency Management Program. This budget amendment provides for the receipt <br />and budgeting of these funds in FY 2011-12 for the above stated purpose. <br />
