Pat Sanford has 18 years experience managing animal shelters. She founded the APS <br />Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Network and the APS Dog Training Program, developed the <br />APS Foster Program, developed and implemented the APS early (pediatric) spay/neuter <br />program, and was the director for the purchase and development of the Felicite Latane Animal <br />Sanctuary. She implemented the Pet Store Adoption Station program, which was the second <br />such project in the nation. Sanford supervised under contract by APS the development of the <br />Caswell County Animal Shelter and Field Services for two years. She served on the NC <br />Humane Federation Board and is currently on the Steering Committee of the HSUS sponsored <br />NC Task Force Against Animal Fighting and Legislative Committee. She has also attended <br />many national training sessions, including the HSUS Shelter Planning and Design course, <br />American Humane Society Shelter Planning course. as well as courses in volunteer <br />development and board relations. Along with her husband Jim, she owns 8 dogs, 2 emus, 2 <br />cockatoos, 1 macaw, 7 peacocks, 1 chinchilla, 5 finch, 2 parakeets, and 1 cockatiel (and fish). <br />Jsan372632(a~aol.com <br />Linda Schmoldt is employed by Armacell LLC as Inside Sales Representative for New <br />Product Development. She lives in Chapel Hill with 4 dogs and 2 cats, and is on the Board of <br />the Orange County Arts Commission. <br />She brings to the HSOC 10 years of experience with a wide variety of animals, including <br />exotics (at the Wildlife Conservation Society), and has been both along-time volunteer and an <br />employee of shelters in New York City, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois (while attending the <br />College of Veterinary Medicine) and Chapel Hill. Her science training includes a biology <br />degree and research in Immunobiology and Toxicology. <br />In her role as Administrative Manager at the APS, she focused on computerizing and <br />simplifying procedures, improving customer service, and maximizing use of volunteers. <br />As a Member of the Board, Linda's goal is to form a truly accountable organization where goals <br />are openly discussed, agreed upon, and evaluated so as to best serve the interests of Orange <br />County's animals and citizens. <br />linschmo(awahoo.com <br />5 <br />
