FINAL THOUGHTS <br />Animals in need deserve experienced and loving care by shelter professionals. The citizens of <br />Orange County expect and deserve an open and compassionate shelter. We, the members of the <br />HSOC, hope to be given the opportunity to serve. Each of us brings to this task years of training, <br />years of commitment to animal welfare, years of expertise in animal welfare, and years of <br />community service. We are fully aware of the scope of the challenge and are eager to show how <br />much can be accomplished. <br />HSOC's most valuable asset is a thorough and intimate knowledge of the shelter. We will not be <br />starting from scratch. Instead we will be building on our familiarity with staffing and equipment <br />requirements, the needs of our customers, the concerns of the community and the local adoption <br />patterns. We will use Standard Operating Protocols (SOP's) that have been developed <br />specifically for this shelter. We will NOT be "winging it", but we will do our best to help the Orange <br />County Animal Shelter soar to new heights. <br />46 <br />
