These salaries, even though approved <br />18 months ago, have not been paid to all staff. These proposed salaries reflect a living <br />wage as mandated by the County. <br />HSOC recommends the following 2 positions be considered very seriously: <br />Option A: NEEDED FRONT DESK HELP <br />1 additional Kennel Tech/ Front Desk worker to provide two persons at all times on the very busy <br />front desk. This will upgrade customer service at the shelter and on the phones and will greatly <br />improve the service the shelter is able to offer to the citizens of Orange County. <br />COST: Salary ............... $20,800 <br />Benefits .............$ 4,576 <br />TOTAL .............$25,376 <br />Option B: HSUS Recommended Adoption Counselor <br />1 Adoption Counselor, as recommended by the Humane Society of the United States. This will <br />allow quicker implementation of the Foster Home and Rescue Group coordination. Inspections of <br />premises, processing applications and coordination of this program take a great amount of time. <br />The Adoption Counselor will also work with prospective adopters in resolving problems and will <br />train and oversee the entire adoption program at the shelter. Increased customer service and <br />expanded programs will be a definite improvement at the shelter. <br />COST: Salary .............$35,000 <br />Benefits...........$ 7,700 <br />TOTAL...........$42,700 <br />41 <br />
