8. COST PROPOSAL <br />FINANCIAL OVERVIEW <br />The Humane Society of Orange County is submitting the request below for monthly funds from <br />Orange County. <br />HSOC is committed to supplying accurate, timely financial information to Orange County. It has <br />been difficult to use inaccurate/contradictory financial reports as a basis for our proposal. This is <br />disadvantageous for our organization and for Orange County. <br />HSOC has many years of financial expertise through direct involvement with the Orange <br />County Animal Shelter. The proposed Director, Dean Edwards, created and managed the <br />financial and budgeting accounting program still in use by the APS. The proposal we are <br />submitting is based on our best estimate of what is reasonable income and expenses. <br />Every effort will be made to not only meet budget, but to exceed income projections and <br />hold the line with costs through diligent financial management of all phases of the shelter <br />operation. <br />The format for proposed income and expenses is the one that has been accepted <br />and used by Orange County for a number of years for budget requests as well as <br />for quarterly and yearly financial reports to the Finance Director. <br />40 <br />
