Amended <br />2/1/88 Volume /Capacity Analysis - The procedures used to compare the volume of a <br />roadway or intersection approach to its capacity (maximum number of vehicles that <br />can pass a given point during a given time period). The procedures are described in <br />the 1965 Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Research Board Special Report 87. <br />Ur=2 1i •17:i <br />1/4/94 Water- Dependent Structure - Any structure for which the use requires access to or <br />proximity to or citing within surface waters to fulfill its basic purpose, such as boat <br />ramps, boat douses, docks and bulkheads. Ancillary facilities such as restaurants, <br />outlets for boat supplies, parking lots and commercial boat storage areas are not <br />water - dependent structures. <br />Amended <br />5120/03 Water Feature - A prominent aspect or characteristic of a geographic area that exhibits <br />verifiable evidence of a presence of water in the soil. Examples of water features <br />include, but are not limited to; perennial and intermittent streams, lakes, ponds, <br />reservoirs, springs, artesian wells, irrigation wells, marshes or swamps, wetlands, and <br />natural drainage ditches (non - ephemeral). <br />Amended <br />1/4/94 Watersupply Watershed (or Protected Watershed) Land that drains to existing <br />reservoirs which are public water supplies or potential reservoir sites or stream intakes <br />which have been designated for protection. All such lands have been classified by the <br />Environmental Management Commission as WS-1 1, WS -III or WS -IV watersheds and <br />require protection in accordance with the State Mandate. <br />Amended <br />11/5/03 Wetlands - Those areas that are inundated or saturated by surface or ground water at <br />a frequency and duration sufficient to support, and that under normal circumstances <br />do support, a prevalence of vegetation typically adapted for life in saturated soil <br />conditions. Wetlands generally include swamps, marshes, bogs, and similar areas. <br />(Definition taken from EPA regulations at 40 CFR Section 230.3(t) and COE <br />Regulations at 33 CFR Section 328.3(b), as of July 2 "d, 2002) <br />Yard Space, Front - The required open space extending the full width of the lot and to <br />a depth equal to the required setback line, measured horizontally at right angles to the <br />rear lot line. <br />Yard Space, Rear - The required open space extending the full width of the lot and to <br />a depth equal to the required setback line, measured horizontally at right angles to the <br />rear lot line. <br />Yard Space, Side - The yard space of a lot which is established by and between the <br />street, or the lot lines, and the required setback line and which shall be open, <br />unoccupied and unobstructed by any structure or part thereof from the ground to the <br />sky, except as otherwise provided by this ordinance. <br />22 -34 <br />
