Street, Public - Public street is a street which has been accepted for permanent <br />maintenance by the State of North Carolina. <br />Street, Subcollector - Subcollector street is used or designed to provide access to <br />abutting properties, but is also designed to be used or is used to connect minor or <br />local streets with collector or arterial streets. Including residences indirectly served <br />through connecting street, it serves or is designed to serve at least twenty -six (26) but <br />not more than one hundred (100) dwelling units and is expected to or does handle <br />between two hundred (200) and eight hundred (800) trips per day. <br />Amended <br />10/2189 Structure - Anything constructed or erected to a height of thirty inches or more, <br />including but not limited to load bearing walls, columns, beams or girders. <br />Amended <br />10 /1 /90 Studio (Arts and Crafts) - Room or building where an art is taught, practiced or <br />studied, or where a craft or product is manually produced. Typical studio users <br />include artists, musicians, dancers, gymnasts, photographers, sculptors, wood and <br />leather craftsmen, glass blowers, weavers, and silversmiths. <br />Amended <br />2/1/88 Study Area - The area in which a traffic impact analysis will be made and extending <br />approximately one half mile along roadways adjacent to a development project and in <br />both directions from all access points or to a major intersection along these roadways. <br />Amended <br />3/18/86 Support System - A combination of footers, piers, caps, and shims that will, when <br />properly installed, support the mobile home. Masonry walls may be installed as a <br />cosmetic feature. <br />Amended <br />2119/89 Temporary Residential Mobile Home - A mobile home, intended for residential use <br />for a limited period of time, for purposes of providing for custodial care under a Class <br />B Special Use Permit or providing temporary residential space during the installation <br />of a replacement mobile home or construction of a stick -built or modular residential <br />unit on the same lot, and for 30 days after the issuance of Certificate of Occupancy for <br />the permanent unit. The temporary mobile home is not attached to a permanent or <br />semi- permanent foundation. <br />Temporary Use Building - A building, not intended for residential use, consisting of <br />one or more modules constructed off the ultimate site of use. The building is also not <br />attached to a permanent or semi- permanent foundation. <br />Ten -Year Transition, Land - Land located in areas that are in the process of <br />changing from rural to urban, and are suitable for urban -type densities, including the <br />provision of public utilities and services within the first ten year phase of the Plan. <br />Tourist Home - A building or group of attached or detached buildings containing, in <br />combination, three to nine lodging units for occupancy for daily or weekly periods, with <br />or without board, and primarily for occupancy by transients, as distinguished from <br />rooming houses, in which occupancy is primarily by residents rather than transients. <br />22 -31 <br />
