Install a 4x6 treated <br />drop girder across the 16 $ span. Install post jacks every 8' to 10' to <br />support the girder. Attach the 4x6 to the floor joists with nails and <br />wedges. The new drop girder shall extend the entire length of the <br />basement. <br />4. Install a new set of steps from the basement to the 1St floor. <br />Install treated 2x 12 stringers and 5/4 decking for the treads. <br />Install riser boards on the steps. Install new handrails on both sides <br />of the steps. Secure the handrails to the wall and floor/stringer. <br />MECHANICAL: <br />1. Remove the oil furnace, oil line and duct work. <br />2. Install a new propane central heat/air system with insulated <br />ductwork. Make all electrical & mechanical connections. <br />The mechanical contractor shall install the furnace in the <br />crawlspace. Install the furnace on level concrete surface. <br />Heat/air contractor shall size the unit appropriately. <br />Install two equally spaced registers in the basement. <br />PLUMBING: <br />1. Install new water lines from the foundation wall to all fixtures. <br />Install new cutoffs on all fixtures. Remove all existing pipe work. <br />2. Install new drain lines from the foundation wall to all fixtures. <br />Drain lines include traps and fittings & cleanouts. <br />Remove all existing drain line. <br />3. Install a main cutoff in the basement or in an approved area. <br />4. Vent the dryer through the wall and out the exterior wall. Use an <br />approved exhaust flapper on the masonry wall. <br />Page 7 <br />5. Remove the drain line for the washing machine and sink in the <br />basement. Patch the hole in the foundation with cement. <br />
