Upon a motion by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner Gering, the Board moved to <br />approve the Minutes of the June 9th, 2003 Regular Board Meeting, the June 9th Closed Session <br />and the June 12d', 23rd, and 26d' Retirement Center Roundtable Workshops as presented by a vote <br />of 4-0. The motion was declared passed. <br />7. REPORT FROM THE TOWN MANAGER <br />Town Manager Peterson updated the Board on the proposed Waterstone development. <br />He announced all candidates filing for, the Board or Mayor with receive information from Town <br />staff. <br />Also, Town Manager Peterson sought permission to miss the September boazd meeting for his <br />annual trip to Topeka. <br />8. REPORT FROM THE TOWN ENGINEER <br />Town Engineer Kenny Keel announced the reservoir water flow was still in good shape. He <br />updated the Boazd on the upgrade of the Lawndale pump station. Also, he thanked Mayor Phelps <br />and Commissioner Sheridan for finding a lower bid on a roof structure at the water plant, saving <br />the town $13,000. <br />9. CONSENT AGENDA <br />A. Receive $5,000 Adopt-A-Trail Grant award to construct the portion of Riverwalk in Gold <br />Pazk <br />B. Consideration of an Ordinance amending Chapter 4, Section 4-7 Performance Appraisal <br />Policy/Merit Principle and Equal Employment Opportunity of the Town Code <br />C. Consider declaring property surplus, and authorizing surplus property be sold at auction <br />Upon a motion by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner Sheridan, the Board moved <br />to approve Items 9.A, 9.B, and 9.C on the Consent Agenda by a vote of 4-0. The motion was <br />declazed passed. A copy of the Ordinance amending Chapter 4, Section 4-7 of the Town Code is <br />hereby made a part of these official Minutes as an Attachment. <br />1Q. ITEMS FOR DECISION -REGULAR AGENDA <br />A. Receive Report from and Endorse the Concept of the Churton Street Corridor <br />Improvement Plan Design Charette by the Tourism Board <br />Lori Michel presented the report on behalf of the Tourism Board. She has spoken with university <br />officials from UNC and I+IC State who expressed an interest in having their students participate. <br />The three topic entries receive a cash prize. Local businesses will receive the winning concept. <br />Town Planning staff may be called on to provide limited support and guidance. <br />2 <br />
