Appointments <br />(1) Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC Board) -Appointment(s) <br />The Board considered appointment(s) to the Alcoholic Beverage Control <br />Board and considered designating a member of the ABC Board as its chair. <br />A motion was made by Chair Brown, seconded by Commissioner Jacobs to <br />appoint Melvin Hurston, with the condition that he would resign from one of <br />the other boards on which he currently serves to be in compliance with the <br />County Commissioners' rules on serving on only two boards at once. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />A motion was made by Chair Brown, seconded by Commissioner Halkiotis to <br />appoint Thomas Heffner. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to appoint Thomas Heffner as Chair of the Alcoholic Beverage <br />Control Board. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />(2) Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC Board) -Reappointment <br />The Board considered the reappointment of one member to the Alcoholic <br />Beverage Control Board (ABC Board). <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner <br />Halkiotis to appoint Leslie Johns for a term to expire June 30, 2006. <br />Commissioner Gordon said that if we do this it means that we do not do the <br />reappointment. <br />VOTE: Ayes, 2; Nays, 3 (Commissioner Halkiotis, Commissioner Jacobs <br />and Chair Brown) <br />The motion failed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Chair Brown to <br />reappoint Janet Cain for a term to expire June 30, 2006. <br />VOTE: Ayes, 3; Nays, 2 (Commissioner Gordon and Commissioner Carey) <br />Janet Cain was reappointed. <br />(3) Hillsborough Planning Board <br />
