A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN ADDENDUM TO THE MEMORANDUM OF <br />UNDERSTANDING TO ESTABLISH AN ADEQUATE PUBLIC SCHOOL FACILITIES <br />ORDINANCE (2003-02-10/R-11) <br />WHEREAS, the Chapel Hill Town Council has been working with the Carrboro Board of <br />Aldermen, the Orange County Board of Commissioners, and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Board of <br />Education to develop a Schools Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town Council endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding on February 8, 2002, <br />that would establish roles and responsibilities in implementing an Adequate Public School <br />Facilities Ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, the Town Council has considered a proposed addendum to the Memorandum of <br />Understanding proposed by Carrboro (Attachment 4 in the Town Manager's February 10, 2003 <br />Memorandum to the Town Council); <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the <br />Council endorses the addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding with the condition that <br />parallel language be added to the addendum (Section 9, Paragraph 2) indicating that all parties <br />(Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and the School District) intend to remain committed to the agreement as <br />long as Orange County continues to execute the Capital Improvement Program as agreed in the <br />Memorandum of Understanding.. <br />This the 10th day of February, 2003. <br />
