During the course of the current fiscal year, the almost thirty-year-old legacy financial system <br />was replaced by a more state-of-the-art system, MUNIS. The old system was quite limited in its <br />capabilities and offered very little analytical flexibility. The new system offers many capabilities. <br />.With- the implementation of the MUNIS systems, staff had the opportunity to design a chart of <br />accounts that more accurately reflects departmental. functionalifies. For examples, expenditures <br />for Library services, Recreation and Parks can now be captured in a new function, Culture and <br />Recreation, as opposed to the legacy system that captured them in the Human Services <br />Function. This budget amendment provides for these new functions with the appropriate funding <br />of County departments within the new functions.
