All proposals shall be for furnishing apparatus, supplies, material's, equipment and/or work and services in <br />accordance with the applicable plans and specifications prescribed by Orange County. Plans and/or <br />specifications may be obtained a# the.Orange County Financ(al Services Department, 200 S Cameron Street, <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278. <br />2. Orange County reserves'the right to award the proposal that is in the best interest of Orange County or to reject <br />any or al{ proposals and to waive minor irregularities. <br />3. The successful bidder shalt comply fully with the requirements of General Statutes, Section 143-129, as <br />amended. <br />4. In the event of default by any contractor or vendor Orange County may•procure from oikter sources whatever. <br />service or item- is being proposed and hold the contractor responsible for any excess cost-occasioned thereby. <br />5: Payment terms are net 30 <br />6. North Carolina sales and use tax shall not be included in the propoaaF amount. <br />7. Proposals submitted via facsimile shall not be accepted. <br />8. Proposals recefved~fter opEning date and time shall not be considered. <br />9. All proposals-must contain an authorized original signature. <br />10. All bids must be returned in a sealed envelope with the proposal number 387-5175 prominently displayed. <br />11: Any and all changes or alterations to this RFP shat[ be made in the form of written addendum. <br />12. Please be advised that apre-bid conference will be held in the Orange County Solid Waste Administration <br />Building, 1207 Eubanks Road,. Chapel Hill, NC on MAY 6, 2011 a1 3:00 pm. Contractors interesting in responding <br />to the attached request for proposals are strongly encouraged to have a representative attend the prebid <br />conference. By submitting a bid the contractor acknowledges he has a complete understanding of the scope of <br />this project. <br />14. Ttre-attached RFP is included to describe the services desired. Duri!~g~the pre-bid conference, county staff will <br />further describe the services.desired and wNi entertain. suggestions, comments and questions. All interested <br />contractors should be prepared to discuss the R1=P during the pre-bid conference. If required; an addendum will- <br />be issued to more accurately define the desired services. <br />15.Orange County supports a living wage of $10.33 per hour. Please indicate on the bid form whether any workers <br />on this job will make less than $10.33 per hour. <br />
