5) Public Transportation Applicant proposes to use private transportation for this development <br />Opportunities <br />in lieu of public transportation. Provisions should be made for <br />residents to have access to public transportation through a bus <br />stop area. <br />6) Comments a) <br />Based upon initial courtesy review comment OC staff provided earlier in <br />the processing of this application, sidewalks have been included along <br />Orange Grove Road. Sidewalks should also be along Eno Mountain <br />Road. <br />b) <br />Right -of -way dedication and improvements to achieve ultimate width o <br />Orange Grove Road, and Eno Mountain Road consistent with the Oran e <br />Grove Road Study is recommended which also includes bikelanes. <br />c) <br />Dedication or reservation of the proposed Mayo Street/Eno Mountain <br />Road future realignment. This is an excellent opportunity to address an <br />existing poor traffic circulation pattern and provide for one intersection <br />that would . be appropriate for the installation of a traffic light. This <br />would provide an alternative north /south route to alleviate existing <br />congestion along Churton Street (NC 86). <br />d) <br />If realignment dedication of Eno Mountain /Mayo Street is not offered, <br />then intersection improvements at Orange Grove Road /Eno Mouuntai <br />Road are necessary. Traffic study shows an overcapacity situation to e <br />exacerbated by this project. <br />D. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES <br />1) Open Space Proposed Yes 2) Acreage 828,816 sq. ft. <br />3) Analysis /Comments Open space will provide on -site private recreational opportunities for tt <br />residents and exceed the minimum open space required by the Town <br />(145,997 sq. ft).
