¢f <br />Promoting the Artistic and Cultural Development of Orange County, North Carolina <br />May 14, 2003 <br />To: BOCC <br />From: Gordon Jameson, Arts Commission Chair <br />RE: Board Appointments <br />The Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) would like to <br />recommend the appointments of Jonathan Pletzke and Linda <br />Schmoldt to the Orange County Arts Commission board. <br />Both have submitted volunteer applications to serve on Orange <br />County advisory boards, and indicated an interest in serving on the <br />Arts Commission. Both reside in Chapel Hill. <br />Jonathan Pletzke has a video production background and is very <br />interested in economic development issues. We believe that the arts <br />can play a vital role in economic development. His experience and <br />interest in this area would be helpful. <br />Linda Schmoldt is a visual artist (painter) who is interested in helping <br />to provide more opportunities for artists to show their work. <br />We would like these two volunteers to replace Jeff Cohen and <br />Carolyn Leith, who were not eligible for reappointment when their <br />terms expired (they had already served the maximum terms allowed}. <br />Thank you for your consideration of this request. <br /> <br />(919) 245-2335 ••r www.artsorange.org • artsC~co.orange.nc.us • Fax (919) 644-3008 <br />P.O.
