2 <br />4 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with this decision item. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Administration recommends that <br />1. if the Board concurs with the 2003 — 2004 Secondary Road Improvement Program for <br />Orange County as proposed and presented by NCDOT at the public meeting on May <br />20, 2003, the Board authorize the Chair to write a letter to NCDOT indicating <br />concurrence; or <br />2. if the Board has some reservations regarding the proposed Road Improvement <br />Program, then the Board take no action, allowing NCDOT to proceed as it determines <br />appropriate with the Program; or <br />3. if the Board has definite concerns regarding the Program, identify the specific <br />concerns and provide direction to staff to schedule a public hearing and to provide <br />necessary public notification of the hearing at which the concerns will be discussed. <br />
