A summary of the proposed projects is included as an attachment to this abstract. <br />This year, the County offers a different approach to how the long-range capital plan for County <br />and School projects is presented and reviewed. With the advent of the Schools Adequate <br />Public Facilities Ordinance system and its provisions for a comprehensive annual update of <br />student membership projections during the November -February timeframe, school capital <br />planning will henceforth need to come later in the annual budget cycle than has been the <br />practice in the past. The public hearing tonight is related to proposed County projects for the <br />ten-year period 2003 through 2013. Proposed school related projects would be presented to <br />the Board during the budget work session on the evening of May 22, 2003. This approach <br />allows the Board to set aside review time for County projects earlier in the review process, and <br />also affords the opportunity for more in-depth review with the Boards of Education of the <br />Schools' long range capital projects during the June budget work sessions. <br />Copies of the proposed County CIP are available at the following locations: <br />• Orange County Budget Office, Government Services Center Annex, 208 South Cameron <br />Street, Hillsborough <br />• Clerk to the County Commissioners, Government Services Center, 200 South Cameron <br />Street, Hillsborough <br />• Orange County Public Library, Whiffed Human Services Center, 300 East Tryon Street, <br />Hillsborough <br />
