In 2003, there are <br />approximately 16,200 Orange County residents who are sixty years of age and older, and 1,570 <br />residents are over eighty -five years old. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with approval of the <br />proclamations. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the <br />proclamations designating May as Older Americans Month and May 11 through May 17 as <br />Senior Center Week in Orange County and authorize the Chair to sign the proclamations. <br />
