SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
MOBILETRAK
MobileTrak:
SOUND INTERFACE
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
With the MobileTrak Sound interface, the system plays a sound based on particular triggers. The
audible sound can be a system beep or a*.wav file. All.wav files must be located in a wav subdi-
rectory of the sdisplay directory.
WAV files are an audio file format that can be configured with a predetermined volume level.
When a *.wav file is triggered, the user's volume is reset to its original level after the sound fin-
ishes playing.
The following triggers can be configured to generate an audible sound under the following condi-
tions:
• When an error message is displayed to the user.
• When a silent dispatch is received by an MDT MobileTrak user.
• When the client program is disconnected from the monitord daemon.
• When a client program reconnects to the monitord daemon.
• When query results are returned.
The following table lists examples of sounds, the varying conditions to which they can be
assigned, and the potential results of the trigger.
SOUND CONDITION RESULT
beep An error messages is shown to the Mobile- The system sounds a beep.
Trak user.
"wav files An MDT enabled unit receives a silent dis- The system sounds the assigned alert.wav
patch. file.
A network disconnect occurs. The system sounds the assigned error.wav
file at a volume level of 75%.
A reconnect occurs. The system sounds the assigned notify.wav
file at a volume level of 25%.
If a second trigger occurs while a sound is being played, the new sound begins after the current
sound is done playing.
1-54 01119110
