Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Brown: <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />The Orange County Recreation and Parks Advisory Council reviewed all applicants for the <br />Recreation and Parks Advisory Council and recommends Stephen (Steve) D. Peck for the Town <br />of Chapel Hill position. Mr. Peck is a resident of the Town of Chapel Hill. <br />"The criteria for Position no. 1 are: <br />• That the applicant selected be a resident of the Town of Chapel Hill, that he show an active <br />interest in the development and improvement of recreational opportunities and parks in <br />Orange County. <br />• That he possess experience or training in recreational activities and/or <br />• Experience or training or demonstrated interest in parks and a <br />• Willingness to commit to active participation on the Council <br />In addition, the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council is committed to increasing the diversity <br />of Council members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of representation <br />whenever possible. <br />It is the feeling of the Council that Mr. Peck,will provide valuable input as a member because: <br />• He has 20 years of experience in the communications industry, which we feel would benefit <br />our council. <br />• He has five years of experience in marketing and in marketing research. <br />• He will represent the community of Chapel Hill, as he is a resident there. <br />• He has an interest in parks as demonstrated in indicating this board as his first choice among <br />all others. <br />Thank you for your consideration of his nomination. <br />Sincerely, <br />Boyd . afi <br />CAWINDOWS \TEMP \Recomme1.doc <br />
