Box 8181 Hillsborough NC 27278 Dear Chair Brown: Subject: Board Appointment The Orange County Recreation and Parks Advisory Council reviewed all applicants for the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council and recommends Stephen (Steve) D. Peck for the Town of Chapel Hill position. Mr. Peck is a resident of the Town of Chapel Hill. "The criteria for Position no. 1 are: • That the applicant selected be a resident of the Town of Chapel Hill, that he show an active interest in the development and improvement of recreational opportunities and parks in Orange County. • That he possess experience or training in recreational activities and/or • Experience or training or demonstrated interest in parks and a • Willingness to commit to active participation on the Council In addition, the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council is committed to increasing the diversity of Council members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of representation whenever possible. It is the feeling of the Council that Mr. Peck,will provide valuable input as a member because: • He has 20 years of experience in the communications industry, which we feel would benefit our council. • He has five years of experience in marketing and in marketing research. • He will represent the community of Chapel Hill, as he is a resident there. • He has an interest in parks as demonstrated in indicating this board as his first choice among all others.
