The Town of Chapel Hill has contracted with <br />Sanborn, Inc. of Charlotte to obtain color digital orthophoto mapping services and products <br />including the County area outside of Chapel Hill/Carrboro at 1" = 200'. The Town has proposed <br />an inter-local agreement which allows the County to participate in purchasing the orthophotos <br />from the Town based on current available funds and proposed funds for FY 2003-04 subject to <br />Board approval. The cost of participation will. be $65,475.80. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: An allocation of $30,000 for aerial photography is already available <br />through funds previously appropriated by the BOCC under the IT Plan Capital Project <br />Ordinance. The County's "fair share" cost for color aerial photography and associated technical <br />services will be fully covered by that appropriation. The cost to the County for the production <br />and delivery of digital orthophotos will be $35,475.80 more. Funding for the acquisition of digital <br />orthophotgraphy would be considered for inclusion for next fiscal year in the recommended <br />2003-2013 Capital Investment Plan to be presented to the Board this spring. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the inter-local <br />agreement with the Town of Chapel Hill, subject to final review by the County Attorney, and <br />authorize the Manager to sign: <br />
