Ryan to use the Orange County Seal as <br />part of a book she is writing. <br />BACKGROUND: Elizabeth S. Ryan has submitted a request to the County to use a <br />reproduction of the Orange County Seal as part of a book she is writing in celebration of the <br />250' anniversary of the County's founding. A letter from Ms. Ryan as well as other information <br />pertaining to the request is attached to this abstract and includes an outline of the book and an <br />example of the Seal that she would like to use. <br />Also attached to this abstract is a letter from County Attorney Geof Gledhill to the BOCC <br />recommending a scenario that the Board could follow if it chooses to grant permission to Ms. <br />Ryan to use the Orange County Seal <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact to the County associated with this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board grant permission to <br />Elizabeth S. Ryan to use the Orange County Seal in her book under the framework outlined in <br />Ms. Ryan's information and in the manner recommended by County Attorney Geof Gledhill. <br />
