Parties to Contract: State of North Carolina, Department of Administration and <br /> Orange County (Emergency Services) <br /> a. Services: The Communications Tower Lease Agreement provides for the <br /> operation of an emergency responder communication network. Note: The <br /> University of North Carolina, Center for Public Television has approved execution <br /> of the Lease Agreement. <br /> b. Amount: $1.00 <br /> 4. Parties to Memorandum of Agreement: State of North Carolina, Department of <br /> Crime Control and Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management and Orange <br /> County (Emergency Services) <br /> a. Services: Through a sub-grant to North Carolina Emergency Services (NCEM), <br /> the County purchased a Companion Animal Mobile Equipment Trailer (CAMET) <br /> for use by the County Animal Response Team (CART) during disasters and <br /> emergencies. The CAMET unit will be used to provide animal shelter during <br /> disasters or emergencies when declared by the County, the State, or during <br /> federal emergencies or disasters declared by the President. The County also <br /> agrees to provide the CAMET unit to NCEM upon request pursuant to the North <br /> Carolina Statewide Emergency Management Mutual Aid and Assistance <br /> Agreement in the event of an emergency or disaster declared by the Governor or <br /> the Legislature. <br /> b. Amount: The State of North Carolina, Department of Crime Control and Public <br /> Safety, Division of Emergency Management will reimburse the County for the <br /> actual eligible costs incurred, not to exceed the amount of $11,745 listed in the <br /> letter from the Secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety to <br /> the County Manager date July 22, 2009. <br /> 5. Parties to Contract: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Orange County <br /> (Emergency Services) <br /> a. Services: This the annual contract whereby the University provides the services <br /> of a physician from the Department of Emergency Medicine to serve as <br /> Emergency Medical Director to the County. In connection with this contract, the <br /> parties execute a "Designation of Medical Director" agreement which provides <br /> that, Jane Brice, MD MPH is designated as the EMS Medical Director and Jeff <br /> Williams, MD MPH is the First Back-Up Medical Director. <br /> b. Amount: $47,000 <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impact is listed in each section above. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board authorize the County <br /> Manager to sign the above listed agreements and any renewals of those Agreements. <br />
